About me
Hi, I’m Andreia, the face behind Diggin’ Dogs Club.
While I’m naturally a bit shy and not the queen of small talk, I genuinely love talking about dogs and how we can give them the best lives possible. When I’m not out with the dogs, you’ll find me travelling, learning new things, or chasing the elusive sun (I know, wrong country, but a girl can dream).
I originally studied design and multimedia, but it didn’t take long for me to realise my heart belonged somewhere very different—close to animals. So I switched paths and discovered that dog walking is a real job (who knew?) and that doggie daycares actually exist—mind-blowing for someone who grew up in Portugal, where pups aren’t always treated like royalty.
So over the last 7 years, I’ve completed a veterinary nurse assistant qualification, interned at a veterinary clinic, worked in multiple dog daycares, volunteered at shelters and walked dogs for couple companies in Scotland. I’ve met everything from tiny sidekick breeds to gentle giants, including many nervous rescues who grew into confident, happy dogs with patience and understanding.
Besides all that, there’s Evee—my first (and only) dog—who taught me more than any course ever could. She showed me that puppies are not just adorable rays of sunshine, but also tiny chaos machines capable of inducing tears, doubts, and make you question every life decision you’ve ever made. It was extra hard with her being a singleton puppy, but always worth it.
After 11 wonderful years in Scotland, I relocated to Newark in 2025 and finally took the leap to open my own dog-walking business.
